Hitler came from Austria. When Hitler’s Nazi party came into power he took advantage o f the fact that Germany had lost of land after the First World war. So Hitler’s army advanced into Poland. This is how the Second World War started.

Planes played a very important part in WW2. Planes were used to bomb enemy cities and to bomb ships, factories and railways.

America came into the war when the Japanese bombed Pearl harbour. The Americans then declared war on Japan.

When Germany was defeated, the Americans concentrated on defeating Japan. The Americans offered peace, but the Japanese refused to surrender. As a result the Americans bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki. After that the Japanese surrendered.
