World War II 1939-1945

What started WW2? Many things caused the start of WW2, however the main causes of WW2 were Italian and Japanese political views. Their views of fascism and militarism caused unease to the allies. Another cause of WW2 was the political take over of Germany by Adolf Hitler, and his invasion of Poland in 1939.

Who were the Alliance/Axis Axis were the antagonists of WW2 consisting of Germany, Japan, and Italy The alliance consisted of many more countries, but the notable ones were the United States, Soviet Union, and the United kingdom.

December 7th, 1941 This date marks the beginning of conflict for the U.S December 7th was the day pearl harbor was attacked by the Japanese. This included two waves of 353 fighter planes including dive bombers and torpedo planes. This attack was significant because it marked the U.S first conflict in the world war

December 11th,1941 Due to attacks on pearl harbor and the Japanese under siege, Adolf Hitler Germanys leader declared war on the united states. At this time the United states was neutral but now joined the alliance to take down the opposition.

June 6th 1944 This was the date of the Normandy landings, or D-day and marked the first seaborne invasion of Germany occupied Europe. This led to more available troops, the liberation of France and ultimately to victory of the war for the alliance.

End of WW2 The war was officially over in Late April to Early may of 1945. The victory officially began to start on April 30th, when Adolf Hitler committed suicide in his bunker in fear of a worse fate at the hands of the alliance. Post Hitler, the Alliance cleaned up the rest of the Nazi troops and started the European rebuild
