Teacher: Mr. Heslip Thank you for giving me tips on how to be safe online By: Brendan Bell

 There are web sites out there that are not as safe as others. Some of the more dangerous sites Are Facebook and twitter.  Facebook is dangerous because you can have as many “friends” as you want even though you might not know them and if you post something inappropriate it will stay there in “the cloud” forever  The same reason is with twitter but they don’t need your permission to follow you

 There maybe games and music apps but then there are social apps like Snapchat and Textplus  Snapchat is an app where you take a “snap” (picture or short video) of your self and send it to your friends. This app is dangerous because if you send a nude picture to them then they can take a screenshot.  Textplus is texting but with people all over the world and in huge chat groups.

 Plagiarism is the act of copying something that other people have done and not give them credit for it.(Video, Music or a Video Game)  You can avoid plagiarism by making a bibliography with the site you got it from the maker of it and the date it was made  Using this PowerPoint Brendansdiglit.yolasite.com Brendan #$&* <-nope May

 Sexting is the act of sending nude pictures via texting.  This is dangerous for many teens wanting attention, a boyfriend/girlfriend or a job.  Just because the person you’re sending it to says they wont show it to anyone doesn’t mean they actually won’t.  If it gets to anyone else it will just keep spreading and can lead to depression and even suicide

 Cyber bullying is the act of bullying someone online  It can happen anywhere online  People do it because they are in the safety of their own home or behind your screen  If some people get cyber bullied it can lead to depression and suicide

 the video game market is the fastest growing market in the world  Video games are described as addicting  There are kids that play games that are meant people 18+  Many games out there are played by under- aged kids  There are tournaments with a prize of lots of money sponsored by Pepsi and other major companies

 You can illegally download almost anything that is on the internet like IBook's, music, games, movies and other programs  You can get finned or even go to jail for downloading illegally on the internet  A lot of sites are being shut down by the authorities  Some sites are: the pirates bay kick ass torrents and bit torrent
