You have been assigned to go on a quest for Mr. Boss. He needs more information on animals and their habitats. He knows how the third grade class is perfect for this expedition. Part of your quest will be to research animals and their adaptations for the environment. You will have to report to Mr. Boss with your findings. Take careful notes! Your Teacher, Ms. Vargas

In order to complete your quest: 1. Visit a website on your assigned habitat. 2. Define and find a picture of your habitat. 3. List 5 characteristics of your habitat.

4.Choose an animal and describe their adaptations to the environment. Choose a different animal then your partners. 5.Find a picture of your animal. 6.Complete your “Quest Sheet” with your findings. 7.Present your findings to the class. Previous Task Slide

Who knows…he might take you on a field trip to one of these places and you can see these animals in their habitat. Pleasant Learning! Ms. Vargas Previous Slide

3. Adaptations in physical structure or behavior may improve an organism’s chance for survival. As a basis for understanding this concept: a. Students know plants and animals have structures that serve different functions in growth, survival, and reproduction. b. Students know examples of diverse life forms in different environments, such as oceans, deserts, tundra, forests, grasslands, and wetlands.
