 Organized around open-ended question or challenge  Begin with the vision of an end product to create a “Need to know” frame of mind  Inquiry to learn and create something new  Critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, and communication are required Fundamentals for PBL

 Some element of student voice and choice  Integrates feedback and revision  End result is a publicly presented product or performance Fundamentals for PBL Continued

 Deeper understanding of concepts and standards  Build essential workplace skills and lifelong learning practices  Motivates students who may find school meaningless or boring  Allows students to address various topics like: community issues, career paths, technology, etc. Reason to Use PBL
