Presentation transcript:

Language Arts: Our theme for the week is ”My Family and Me”. The children will share stories about themselves and their family. They will share all the special things that they do with their family. The high frequency word for the week are: we. We will also review I and can. The students will continue journal writing using pictures, words, and/or inventive spelling. Math: Our focus continues to be the calendar and its concepts. We will practice writing the date, and we will explore manipulatives. In unit one we will focus on numbers to 10 and the count sequence to 20. Students will use manipulatives as tools for math. They will represent a number of objects with a written numeral. Students will use one-to-one correspondence as they count objects. They will make comparisons of different sets of objects by using greater than, less than, and equal to. Announcements: **”Our Family” project was due today. If you have not sent in your project please send it in as soon as possible. We will begin sharing tomorrow. Hope you are enjoying this fun project with your child. The kids are so excited to share these with the class. We can’t wait to learn about each other. **Grandparent’s Day: We invite all kindergarten grandparents or a special adult to attend our MES Grandparents’ Day celebration on Tuesday, September 10 th.
