What Animal Has Big Fat Cheeks? By: Avrey Reynolds

A Squirrel’s Tasty Menu Squirrels are omnivores. The plants they eat are seeds, nuts, berries, and mushrooms. The animals they eat are insects, eggs, and small animals, like frogs and lizards.

A Squirrel’s Protection The first adaptation is sharp teeth for chewing food. The second one is the tail they use it for an umbrella and parachute. If it’s raining, they use their tail to cover their head. When a squirrel jumps out of a tree, the tail helps it glide safely. Third is their nose it has a keen sense of smell to find food. The last adaptation is its claws, they use their claws to climb trees.

A Squirrel’s Habitat Their habitats are in the forests, deserts, prairie regions, and mountain areas. They can survive in all most every habitat, but very cold places. They sleep in dreys, burrows, in rotting logs, gaps under buildings, and other protected places. If they live in a burrow, they live underground. If they live in a drey, they live in a tree. They don’t live in water.(Just wanted to make sure you knew that, you might of already.)

Do You Know What A Squirrel’s Pretator Is? A lot of things eat squirrels, do you want to know some? PEOPLE eat squirrels. They hunt them and then eat them. Other things eat them like wolves and coyotes eat them, too.

Would a squirrel make a good pet? A squirrel would not make a good pet, here are some facts why they are not good pets: The first reason, is squirrels have sharp teeth, so they might bite you! They can carry diseases that can make humans ill. The third reason is they cannot be house trained.

Different kinds of squirrels The three kinds of squirrels are the flying squirrel, ground squirrel, and the tree squirrel. Only the ground squirrel hibernates.(sometimes) The flying squirrel does not hibernate. Neither does the, tree squirrel. If you were a squirrel what kind would you be.
