Class Regulations Smoking areas are outside Drinks may be brought into the class room but please use caution not to spill them. Pick up all trash and straighten your chairs when you are finished. This room is also used by the Tate Township Trustees for public meetings as well as the fire department for other meetings and trainings We ask that you please be on time for class and put all pagers and cell phones on vibrate or turn them off during class

Class Regulations It is your responsibility to bring your books, turnout gear, and an SCBA to each class. We will be using them frequently Please call the firehouse and let someone know in advance if you are going to be unable to attend the class session for any reason The instructor may at his/her discretion, allow you to make up a class if it is feasible. Practical sessions may be made up if it is known 1 week in advance and the session is not one that requires much manpower and assistance to set up such as the ladder maze. ALL PRACTICAL SESSIONS must be completed successfully in order to graduate this course. This is mandatory so do not ask to be excused from doing them

Class Regulations Use caution and exercise good judgment while on fire ground evolutions. No horseplay will be tolerated during these exercises. If there are any problems you may have during the course talk to your Lead Instructor. If he/she can not resolve the problem, Art Owens will handle it. The final decisions regarding any part of this course lies with him as Program Coordinator.

Alternative Testing If you feel you have a problem or disability that would require an alternative testing procedure for you, you must let Art know by the end of the 2 nd class so you can get the proper paperwork filed to the state for the alternative test.

Substance Abuse Alcohol or drug use during class will not be tolerated and will result in immediate dismissal from this course and will be reported the Div. of EMS. Law enforcement will also be notified of any incidence regarding drug or alcohol abuse. This includes coming to class already under the influence of such items.

Parking Please park your vehicles in the front parking lot near the flag pole on N. Charity Street as to allow parking for volunteer and full time employees of the Bethel-Tate Fire Department

Class Grades You must maintain an average of 70% throughout this course to be qualified to complete and test for certification. The final exam must be passed with a minimum of 70% in order to test on the State of Ohio level.

Conduct which may result in disciplinary action or dismissal Falsification, alteration or misuse of documents, records, or ID cards Failure to comply with directions from instructors Threats or acts of violence Intentional damage of equipment or buildings Cheating, dishonesty Commission of acts harmful or potentially harmful to others Inattention or lack or application and participation during the course Any other dangerous conduct

Turn out gear / SCBA Turnout gear and SCBA will be worn at times when told to do so by the instructor. Failure to bring and use this gear will result in your not completing the course. This is your responsibility and no one else’s.

ILLNESS OR INJURY If your are ill or have been injured during this course, immediately notify the instructor and a report must be filed. This filed report must be completed within 24 hours of the injury or illness.

Mid-Term Exam The mid-term exam will be administered by the Bethel-Tate Fire Department Division of Firefighter Education The exam will cover all topics covered from the start of the course to the class before the mid- term exam. You must score a minimum of 70% on the exam to continue to the course. You will have one re- take attempt the evening following the exam.

Class Final Exam In order to sit for the State Exam, you must first take and pass a class final exam. You must pass this exam with a minimum score of 70%. You will have 3 attempts to pass this exam.

State Exam Will be administered by The Bethel-Tate Fire Department Division of Firefighter Education. May be taken 3 times and passed with a minimum of 70%. If you do not pass on three attempts you will have to re-take the course at your own expense.

Telephones Telephones are located throughout the building. Please limit your calls to 5 minutes No long distance calls are permitted without permission of the instructor.

Weapons The Bethel-Tate Fire Department prohibits any person from carrying or possessing a weapon while on our property or any property in which we are conducting training. If found with a weapon you will be dismissed from class with no discussion.

READ YOUR TEXT The only way you are going to pass this course is to study the text book and that means READ each chapter. We can’t go over every word of the text so if you aren’t prepared to devote time to reading and studying then you are in the wrong class.

Enjoy the Class This class is designed to tune the skills you already possess and add some new skills & knowledge. You will get out of it what you put in to it. Please ask questions if you don’t understand. Participation in the class is a graded event and you must participate to complete the course
