What have we covered so far..? Think back over the last semester….  What historical periods have we a) covered and b) just met (been introduced to)  What works have we studied and read (list by period)  What vocabulary units have we covered? Guess how many words that means!  Any skills (writing, studying, reading) you reviewed or new ones learned?

Check your list with these… Anglo-Saxon Period “met” or introduced to the Medieval Period Works covered = 2 works showing the religious influence on A.S. England (“Conversion…” and “Caedmon”); “Beowulf” as an example of the epic (what IS an epic, what is the epic cycle) and as an example of the epic hero (what IS an epic hero, what are the qualities/characteristics of an epic hero)

Continuing… Vocabulary units 1-5 = 75 new words Skills reviewed = topic outlining, paragraph structure, note-taking, summarizing, paraphrasing, 5-paragraph essay format New period “just met” = Medieval Period Work covered… started with Geoffrey Chaucer, Canterbury pilgrimage, Canterbury Cathedral & history, “Canterbury Tales”
