 For Uruguay when they scored, they did a lot of “off the ball movements” so the first player when all the way from Uruguay's half onto the the other half, then he chipped the ball over to a player in a good space and the player scored  The defenders could have stopped that by going into position in front of the attackers

 There was a lot of tactics and special moves during the games, so that if the player was close to the goal and there was a defender in between, they would twirl and pass the ball from under the defender to confuse the other team, and the attacker close to the goal would score
