IPMI 2.0 Overview SOL-Serial redirection over Lan Management of servers and systems in a remote environment over LAN connections Allow IT managers to manage their servers and systems, regardless of system health and power state Backward compatible with existing IPMI v1.0/1.5 commands Session Security Control Session management -Increases scalability for enterprise- class servers -Session must be activated before it can be used -LAN channel is multi-session -Serial channel is single-session Security control -User name -Password -Privilege: Admin, Operator, User Management console Network
