Compression  Cross out unnecessary info;  Put parentheses around what you can condense;  Write simplified words and phrases over parentheses.

Sentence summary  Write a 1-sentence summary of each segment of the article, chapter, etc.;  Divide the paper into segments based on similar topics if it is not already divided for you;  Title each segment.
