MH2850 Projector for Medical Education

X-Ray to Electronic Data (Changes in the medical industry) Shift from X-ray images to Electronic data (MRI and CT) is becoming more common: –Save storage space –Easily searchable –Achieving efficiency –Overall cost saving of image management Example: Japanese Medical Industry Government had been supporting medical X-ray costs. However this support ended in Apr. ’08. Shifted to an electronic PACS system (Picture Archiving and Communication System). This shift to electronic data has been essential in overall savings and efficiency.

PACS Products Computers Servers Software applications to manage images Desktop monitors Front projectors

How projectors are being used Medical Education Technical Medical Training Medical conferences Pre-operation conference Imagine a room of 30 students…it’s much more effective for the instructor to teach/identify a medical symptom on a 100” image than have students huddle over a tiny 24” computer monitor

Example Setup Dual projector setup comparing MRI /CT images

Medical Education High resolution projector Displaying a large image size helps doctors/educators to better demonstrate or identify symptoms which might be overlooked when viewed on a small x-ray or PD display. Projection display should be at least SXGA+

MH2850U Virtual DICOM DICOM Part14 is designed for desktop monitors to view X ray images. Certified desktop monitors for medical use is in compliance with DICOM Part 14. The MH2850U includes support for virtual DICOM support. It is designed to simulate DICOM part 14 standard, so it has predefine gamma curve settings for both Clearbase and Bluebase settings. MH2850U preset setting is Clear Base

Clearbase/Bluebase There are 2 major X-ray picture formats, one is Clearbase and the other is Bluebase. MH2850 supports both modes, Clearbase and Bluebase. The MH2850U is designed with simple to use menu selections to access both Clearbase and Bluebase settings easily.

Tone Enhancer MH2850U includes fine tuning setting that allow users to enhance the gray gradation levels to their preference OFF: No enhancement HIGH: The gradation reproducibility on the white side is enhanced. (The gradations on the black side are lost.) MIDDLE: The gradation reproducibility on the middle gray level is enhanced. (The gradations on both black and white sides are lost.) LOW: The gradation reproducibility on the black side is enhanced. (The gradations on the white side are lost.)
