Image Manipulation Below is an image that I have chosen to manipulate through a number steps,

Below are the steps that I performed when manipulating this image Using the fix option in Windows Photo Gallery I 1-altered colour temp to max 2-reduced tint 3-increased saturation to the max 4-decreased brightness 5-increased contrast 6-custom croped picture to current size

After these changes to the photo I then exported the image to the program paint 8-used brush to add beard, ears and hair 9-used paintbrush to paint soccer ball, sock and to draw a walking stick. 10-drew a circle and filled it in with the paintbrush to create a yellow circle. Changed to colour of the paintbrush to draw eyes and mouth and sunrays to create a sun 11-used paintbrush to create purple grass 12-clicked on image in toolbar, skewed the image horizontally by 5% and vertically by 5% 13-selected image in toolbar and flipped horizontally

Animation On the next slide you will see a brief animation that I have made, the title is A Wonderful Day

There are a number of advantages of using animations in teaching which include, Engages students in a task that requires their full attention where they can see their results visually in the end product Allow students to test and discover various forms and styles of animation with a relatively small cost to resources Builds the presentation skills of each student when they are asked to create an animation Animations allow students to explore colours, shapes, images and build and act on their ICT ideas

Advantages cont.. Can be used as a task to break up work as some students may find a task about animation interesting and relaxing Animations can be used in various subjects and units throughout a students learning. Foe example in the use of story building in English subjects. Teaching through animation allows teachers to have another form of getting students to learn and be engaged in learning Students learn and build upon basic computer command such a copy, paste and cut Requires higher levels of thinking, when students are required to create an animation, this aspect includes management of timing and transitions to planning and organising of digital media to form an animation

Important! The benefits of using animation in student learning will only be realised if the teacher can implement the use of animation in the classroom effectively
