What is the Incumbent Workforce Development Program? A training program for qualified employees of a company that results in the following outcomes: 1.Builds/upgrades employee skills 2.Improves employee productivity 3.Reduces employee turnover 4.Increases business competitiveness

Division of Workforce Development works with an advisory board of Local WDBs Local Workforce Development Boards – the local company contact and guide Applications submitted to LWDBs, then to the Division Decisions finalized, awards announced, contracts entered between LWDBS and companies Training conducted; costs reimbursed; reports completed How does the Program Work?

What else do I need to know?

Employer: – Located in NC – For-profit or not-for- profit – In operation for at least one year prior – Current on all taxes Eligibility Employee: – Paid by company or staffing agency at NC facility – At least 18 years of age – Citizen of US or non- citizen with proper documentation

Impact of Other Funding Sources Eligible for or has an existing training grant from other NC government resources –Other potential funding sources are to be investigated and used first –Requested training must not duplicate prior or current training efforts –Terms and conditions of previous grants must be completed satisfactorily
