Louis Pasteur entered college and earned his degree. Louis Pasteur proved that bacteria causes wine and milk to go bad. Louis Pasteur conducted experiments to solve the problem.

Have you ever thought of any schemes to plan a special event for someone? What where they? Who exerts himself or herself to set new records? Have you ever rigged up something? What was it? If you won a million dollars in a contest, would you think it was astounding? Why or why not?

Where might you find a replica of a famous airplane? If you wanted to sit on a chair that had one leg shorter than the others, how would you stabilize it? Why do you think so many popular musical groups disbanded?

 Think about how you talk to your mom.  Now, how do you talk to second graders?  What is the difference?

1. Which detail in the first paragraph provides information about Jamila Jordan’s age? 2. Which words in the second paragraph might appeal to readers who are the same age as Jamila? 3.
