Student Perception Survey Results Ms. X’s Results for SPS 2015

Overview ▪ What is SPS and Why is it important ▪ Teacher self reflection: My SPS self assessment results aka “Here’s how I think class is going” ▪ Class SPS results: What are my results and what do they mean? ▪ Areas of growth: My areas of growth ▪ Class discussion: Review areas of growth, what can I do to improve my areas of growth? ▪ Class strategy: What are our next steps as a class to ensure myself and our class are on a continual path of improve and success?

What is SPS and Why is it Important ▪ Student Perceptions Surveys are a way for REAL student voice and feedback to improve classrooms! ▪ Student feedback matters: Have you ever felt like giving your teacher advice on how to improve your class? This is your chance! ▪ Survey results help your teacher: Your teacher might not be aware that their teacher style and your learning style clash, with constructive feedback your teacher can improve how they teach and become more in tune with how their class feels. ▪ Students are the experts at learning and teachers are experts at learning, SPS brings these two together!

How SPS results are broken down Facilitating Learning Do you support your students' understanding of academic content, and encourage students to think critically and explain their ideas? High Expectations of Students Do you communicate high expectations for student behavior and effort? Supports Students Do you support students emotionally and create an engaging classroom environment?

My Self Assessment: My own reflection on how I’m doing in class * Use your self assessment to transition into your overall results and think about how your self assessment and overall compare. (Is there anything surprising/were they similar/etc

Areas of Growth: What do I need to improve on? My score for facilitating learning was lower than my overall score. This surprised me because [ insert explaination] Please copy screenshots of your areas of improvement here and duplicate as needed. You can also use slides for individual questions that need discussions. It’s important to use your debriefing time to focus on areas of improvement!

Class Discussion: Improving facilitating learning What can I do to make sure that the class feels like they have a better understanding of what we’re learning, developing critical thinking skills and sharing ideas?

Class Strategy Are there any further questions and suggestions for class improvement? What are our next steps as class to ensure continual improvement, clear communication and success?

If you did not feel like sharing during class, I’m available for discussion! My is [insert ] My office hours are [insert office hours] Lastly, thank you for taking the time to complete your Student Perception Surveys. They are helpful to my own growth as a teacher, leader, and mentor!
