Background How have your students performed historically? Over the past three years, my students’ have consistently demonstrated limited ability with Parts of Speech. On EOC Writing Tests, the average score on PoS questions was 72%. Over the past two years, my students have earned an average of 2.1 on WPS competencies. Background How did your students, this year, score on a pre-test? On September 6, my students took the WRS pre-test. The class average for Level 1 students was 32% and for Level 2 students was 64%. In the September chair-side assessment, my students struggled with maintaining proper ICE procedures (average 15% success rate) and delivering high customer care (average 48% success rate). Background Why is this area of performance important? The Culinary trade council identifies these 12 competencies as essential competencies for entry into the workforce. The CNA skills examination focus on these three skills as the primarily assessed skills for the examination. If students do not earn AYES certification, employment in the local workforce and/or continued post-secondary training is unlikely. Background Student Performance Teacher Actions Context

Student Performance How will your students grow this year? All students will earn an average score of 2 or higher on WPS competencies as measured by the Student Competency Record. All students will earn an board certification. Students will increase their EMT-B examination score a minimum of 30% points above their pre-test score. Teacher Actions What and when will the teacher do REGULARLY? Two times per month, I will give students a focused seminar on Parts of Speech. Monthly, I will assess their knowledge of Parts of Speech and record the information. Weekly, I will meet with each student to review and record their progress on competencies taught in the past week and their overall progress for course competencies.
