PLANTS

Plants are living things. They are born, grow, reproduce and die. All plants need air, light and water to live.

The Parts of a plant Flower Leaf Leaves Stem Roots

Roots They hold the plant in the soil. They absorb water and the substances that the plants need.

Stem It joins the root to the leaves. It holds up the plant. It carries the water and other substances to the leaves.

Leaves Plants breathe through their leaves. They take water and nutrients that the stem carries from the roots, sun light and air and they make food for the plant.

Flower Some plants have flowers. Flowers are the reproduction organ of the plants. Flowers can be different sizes, shapes, colors and have different odors.
