MARY SEACOLE

INTERSTING FACT ABOUT MARY SEACOLE!! Full Name: Mary Jane Seacole DOB: 1805 DOD: 14 May 1881 She grow up in Kingston, Jamaica. In …she moved to London and live for the rest of her life. In 2004 She Was Voted The Greatest Black Briton. She wrote a book called : Wonderful adventure of Mrs. Seacole in many lands (1857). She was posthumously awarded the Jamaican Order of Merit in 1991.

THINGS SHE DID FOR PEOPLE She acquired knowledge of herbal medicine in the Caribbean. When the Crimean War broke out, she applied to the War Office to assist but was refused. She opened a shop in Crimea She opened a hotel called “ British Hotel. ” To help soldier get better in the war.

NOT SO INTERSTING FACT Her father was white and her mother was mixed race. Her father was a Scottish solider in the British Army. After returning to Jamaica, Seacole nursed her "old indulgent patroness" through an illness. If people refused to help her, perhaps because of racial prejudice, she still did what she believed was right.

DEATH OF MARY SEACOLE/ CONCLUSION Mary Jane Seacole died on 14 May 1881 She died because I think Mary Seacole died of natural causes. I chose Mary Seacole she is a black independent woman and even if people put her down she always springs back even bigger. And she is intersting and if I could I would go back in time and meet her in person.
