Select, prepare and use strategies, activities, and resources appropriate for a diverse population with varying backgrounds, cultures, abilities and interests. In reviewing the selection policys of LBUSD and with careful consideration of the diverse needs of the population of the students attending Hill Middle School, titles were selected to add to the school library collection. Librarian and student input was also taken into consideration before selecting titles to add to the library collection.

Librarian’s from LBUSD attend monthly book review meetings where they present books they have read to other librarians. A review card is filled out and must be signed by two librarians Objectionable matter in the book is discussed Here is a document of the reviews from the meeting I attended attachments_2010_06_08.zip

In selecting titles to add to the library collection it is important to review the school districts selection policy Here is a copy of the LBUSD Selection Policy attachments_2010_06_08.zip

If a title is not already in the system the book must be reviewed by a librarian and sent to library services.
