What were three advances in technology that had a profound effect on industry? Bessemer process allowed steel to be produced cheaply, and steel became the major building material. Chemists created hundreds of new products such as aspirin to perfumes, soaps and dynamite. (Nobel) Swedish. Electricity replaced steam as the source of industrial power. Volta first battery Italian.

How did business change in response to the new technologies of industrialization? Large scale companies came to dominate industries like steel. They formed corporation and created monopolies to control entire areas of the economy.
