Our planet was bigger than it is right now. Our universe was just beginning when Earth was hit by a giant meteor. Then our home was split in not two but three. The Earth became covered in molten lava. When it cooled down it became solid and calm. The other two pieces of Earth we think were it’s moon. So at some point the Earth had two moons. Then the two moons collided and turned into one. So eventually people think the Earth had to moons.

 Earth was formed approximately 4.54 billion years ago  Over 70% of Earth’s surface is covered with water  Earth’s atmosphere is made up of nitrogen and oxygen  If the moon didn't exist there would be no life on Earth!  When parts of Earth’s crust bump into each other volcanoes will erupt and earthquakes will take place.

 When we are awake in North America, people in Japan are probably sleeping  Earth’s inner core is made up of solid iron and is the hottest part of our Earth  The magma inside our Earth is very hot and soft. It can flow out of the volcanoes in red-hot rivers of lava!
