Good Morning!!! Hope you ate your Wheaties this morning because school is rocking fo’ real today We will be learning the 5 themes of geography today. For your warm up get out a piece of paper and write down what YOU think are the 5 themes of geography Check the board for an example of how to construct your warm ups! WoooooHoooooo it’s day 3!

5 Themes of Geography Absolute location/Relative location Place Region Human/Environment Movement

Location, Location, Location Absolute Location- The exact LOCATION on Earth using Latitude and Longitude coordinates Longitude LATITUDELATITUDE

Location, Location, Location cont. Relative Location- A location of a place in relation to another place (i.e. south or downhill). Example: Galveston, TX is just south of Houston, TX.

Place Place- A place is an area that is defined by everything in it. All places have features that give them personality and distinguish them from other places.

Region Region- A n area that is defined by certain similar characteristics. Those unifying or similar characteristics can be physical, natural, human, or cultural.

Human Environment Interaction Human/ Environment- How humans interact with the environment & How the environment responds to that reaction

Movement Movement- Travel of people, goods, and ideas from one place to another, Immigration & Migration
