QSEN Initiative  Prepare new nurses with knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to continuously improve quality and safety in practice environment  Quality and safety competencies from Institute of Medicine (IOM) Report  Changes to existing nursing curricula needed  Three phase project funded by RWJF

Teamwork and Collaboration  Functions effectively as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, demonstrating the values of open communication and mutual respect, with the goal of optimal patient care.  Communicates with members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote quality patient care
