Social Problem Dramatic Financial Crisis Unemployment at extreme levels≈27% (young people≈60%) Problematic First Degree Healthcare 3,000,000 uninsured (according to the statement of the President of EOPYY) The impact of the financial crisis on citizens’ health is severe Huge increase and presence of “social infirmaries” The need for the provision of medicinal products whose quality is ensured through the social infirmaries to uninsured & indigent citizens Consequence of all the above

Social Image of SFEE Idea for the creation of the Bank of Medicines SFEE in the context of Responsible Activity, Development and Social Solidarity wishing to substantially contribute to Public Health and to those who have actual need, proceeded with the establishment “SFEE’s Bank of Medicines”, a “Network for the collection and free distribution of medicinal products” from companies-members of SFEE, to the uninsured and indigent citizens

Chronicle of the Bank of Medicines designed The initiative has been designed in the context of the wider co-operation of SFEE and its members-companies with the Social Mission Infirmary of ISA and the Philanthropic Organisation “APOSTOLI” of the Holly Archdiocese for supporting with pharmaceutical medicines the indigent and uninsured persons included in the ISA Register and operates under the shield of the Ministry of Health correspond SFEE and the companies-members thereof correspond to the need of uninsured and indigent citizens to promptly access their treatment announces SFEE announces the establishment of the “SFEE’s Bank of Medicines” – Network for the collection and free distribution” for indigent and uninsured

In the context of the programme support of uninsured and or citizens “Voucher for Free Access to First Degree Healthcare Services (Health Voucher), SFEE countersigns on September 10, 2013 Memorandum with the Ministry of Health, ISA and the Philanthropic Organisation “APOSTOLI” of the Holly Archdiocese of Athens, so that medicinal products will be offered to those with great need through the Social Mission Infirmary and with the support of the “Bank of Medicines – Network of Collection and Free Distribution of Medicinal Products of SFEE” Memorandum

Objectives of the Bank of Medicines Distribution to indigent and uninsured citizens, of qualitative, effective and safe medicinal products, through the legal procedures that ensure the due collection, keeping and dispense of the medicinal products granted Integration of individual actions implemented by each company Acknowledgment of the active contribution and participation of SFEE and its companies-members in the prevailing huge social need

Procedure of the Pool of Medicinal Products of SFEE 1 st Stage Release of quantities directly from the companies’ stock: direct coverage of needs 2 nd Stage Reoffering of returned medicinal products with a remaining shelf life of 6-months Pharmaceutical companies request that the returns be effected in the beginning of every six months period instead of the end thereof, only for ambient products (not chilled), only from the wholesales of Athens Commencement of returns from : constant flow of medicinal products Activation of the operation of the Bank in two (2) phases

Participation of companies-members of SFEE Over 50 companies have already expressed their interest in participating in the action of the Bank of Medicinal Products of SFEE Up to now, companies- members of SFEE have corresponded to the first requests of ISA, granting medicinal products from their stock

Communicational Actions of SFEE 1 st stage On a joint Press Conference was organised with SFEE, the Ministry of Health, ISA, the Archdiocese of Athens, EOF and the representatives of wholesales, in the premises of the Ministry of Health The initiative enjoyed wide publication in TV stations, radio, printed and electronic media 2 nd stage A special communicational plan will be prepared for the promotion of the Initiative, as well for acknowledging the offer of the companies-members that will participate and support the project
