Improving Your Self-Esteem
Self-esteem isn't just about telling yourself you're "wonderful" or getting compliments from other people that help you feel good about yourself. Self-esteem is the feeling of self-pride that comes from taking action.
Create and Share You are going to be working in groups to come up with practical things you can do to help improve your self-esteem. For example, you could do something nice for someone else without expecting anything in return.
In your groups… You will be in groups of 4 or 5. Within your group, brainstorm a list of practical things you could do to help improve your self-esteem. When you've completed your list, the reporter from each group will report to the class your group answers.
As a class… We need to synthesize our lists to create ONE top 10 list that emphasizes the most important things off of our group lists.
Now, take out your Top 10 Ways to Improve Self-Esteem worksheet and copy these rules.
Homework!!! During the next week, you are going to have the chance to do one of the things from this "Top 10 Ways to Improve Self-Esteem" list. There are many things you can do to improve your self-esteem. But you have to take action to do it.
