Maples ( Acer )

Red Maple 3 shallow lobes Dull green above, whitish and fuzzy beneath Red, orange and yellow in the fall

Silver Maple 5 deeply lobed leaves Dull green above, white/silver below

Sugar Maple 5 deep, long pointed lobes with few, narrow teeth Red, orange, yellow in fall

Oaks ( Quercus )

Pin Oak 5-7 deep lobes Leaves have tipped teeth

White Oak 5-7 rounded lobes

Sweetgum Star shaped leaves Red, orange, purple and yellow in fall “bristly fruit”
