Presentation transcript:

To test how bubbles are affected by sugar or salt. Lab 1 Bubbles! Objective - To test how bubbles are affected by sugar or salt.

10 mL of water 2 grams of sugar 2 grams of salt Experiment - 10 mL of water 10 drops of soap solution 2 grams of sugar 1 2 3 2 grams of salt Swirl each test tube. Dip the straw into test tube 1, remove and gently blow a bubble, practice to make large bubbles. Repeat with test tubes 2 and 3. Record data about the size of the bubbles from each test tube

Test Tube Approximate size of bubbles formed 1 2 3

Analysis - Were there any noticeable differences in bubble formation between test tube 1 and 2? Were there any noticeable differences in bubble formation between test tube 1 and 3? Results -

Questions - Which of the three test tubes was the control? What were the independent and dependent variable(s) in this lab? This experiment tested how salt and sugar affected bubble making. Develop a different question related to making bubbles. Form a hypothesis and design an experiment to test your hypothesis.
