Presentation transcript:

Y our i deas αLED lights for in-line skates main problems with the older version : -low adaptability for different designs of skates -low durability major improvements : -higher durability -easier installation -better visibility from sides -participation on public demonstrations with larger audience accompanied by police

αLED lights - demonstration Y our i nitiatives clearly visible difference new police forces

βTransportation study - analysis Y our i deas brainstorming & discussion : -why has Martin such a high percentage of cyclists in comparison with other Slovak cities ? -which age groups are the most prevalent among cyclists and among skaters ? -what are the differences between cyclists and skaters with regard to infrastructure requirements ? preparation of questions for a town official : -is there something like a long-term framework plan for the development of non- motorist transportation in Martin ? -does the planning follow guidelines of an institute or an example of a twin town ? -which other facilities are planned to be built other than the roads ? -in which forms is the information campaign to be carried out ? -have you implemented a way to collect feedback from visitors and citizens ?

βTransportation in Martin - interview Y our i nitiatives present situation for non-motorists : -high traffic flow capacity for both motorists and non-motorists -good information campaign potential thanks to a regional organization for cyclists, town webpage with a high traffic, high number of volunteers and culture institutions -excellent natural resources with water access and accommodation services issues : -small lenght of quality cyclo roads in the town -sole focus on cyclists -too many road crossings where motorists have priority -disrupted connections to nearby recreational roads and other transport options -lack of parking places for cyclists and other facilities -non-existent long-tem plans for sustainable regional development

γInformation campaign Y our i deas student campaign : -focus on daily commuters (students, bus or train co-travellers) -social sites, sharing of experiences -helps to improve social skills, cheap but also unreliable town campaign : -high accessibility and trust, official -public spaces, town webpage, regional television -potentially expensive events : -varied masses, singular occassions with small chance of providing complete info -can target specific groups, e.g. turistic events for cyclists, meetings,...

γ Cycle rickshaw Y our i nitiatives good speed, maneuverability : -distinguishable -a lot of advertisement space -easily combined with individual skaters, cyclicts and others -space for two “customers”

δExisting issues - identification Y our i deas two types of issues that can be resolved locally - construction (project) : -impossible road turns -absurd obstacles, confusing signs, details - e.g. road bumpers and 5km/h speed limit -pedestrian crossings and maintenance (management) issues : -obstruction of visibility by plant growth -obstruction by vehicles, terraces, etc. -obstruction by pedestrians issues that require large-scale solutions - urbanistic problems : -road crossings without priority for non-motorists -missing relations to other roads, areas, facilities, etc.

δconstruction (project) issues Y our i nitiatives impossible road turns 5km/h speed limit pedestrian crossings confusing signs combined with road bumpers and parking lots for cars

δmaintenance (management) issues Y our i nitiatives pedestrians construction a terrace, people, etc.

δurbanistic issues Y our i nitiatives -road crossings without priority for non-motorists -missing relations to other roads, areas, facilities, etc. prevention : -correct order of (construction) services -audit of the project during each step -information campaign - increasing awareness
