Team: Design for Manufacturing Investigation: Investigate similar products to your ideas (internet, photos) Identify and investigate materials to be used. How does it work? Determine appeal of product (Market Research) We picked this picture because it shows how to make a two story bird house and still keep it simple. Birdhouse, made of wood, used to give birds shelter. Nicole Naticchia We picked this picture because it shows how to make a simple but very productive locker organizer. The locker organizer is made of wood and it is used to keep your books neat and easy to access. Bryn Kelly We picked this picture because we thought that the slide mechanism would make it easier to get a gumball Andrew Fagan We picked this picture because to dispose one m&m at a time instead 10 coming out Miles Davidow

Design for Manufacturing Team: Possible Solutions:  List 4 possible solutions  Create 4 3-D sketches of your product  List the pros and cons of the design idea on the back of the sketches Pros: This locker organizer is a great way to keep your locker neat and have lots of space. Cons: This locker organizer is pretty big and it takes up lots of space in your locker. Bryn Kelly Pros: Stores a lot of different candy. Cons: Not a very large product. By: Andrew Fagan Pros: two floors, can hold a lot of birds Cons: too many holes and too large. By: Nicole Naticchia Pros: You get free gum Cons: it’s a triangle and not a circle By: Miles Davidow

Design for Manufacturing Team: Chosen Solution: Investigate similar products to your ideas (internet, photos) Identify and investigate materials to be used. Determine appeal of product (Market Research) We chose this product because it had the highest market appeal and it is very useful.

Design for Manufacturing Team: Developmental Work  Should include pictures of the design work and creation of the prototype  There should be captions of for each photo Design for Manufacturing Team: Developmental Work  Should include pictures of the design work and creation of the prototype  There should be captions of for each photo This is the final product… THE LOCKER ORGANIZER! This is the layout of the Locker Organizer. This when we were half way done the locker organizer

Design for Manufacturing Team: Testing  Will the product function as planned?  Is the product sized appropriately? The product will function correctly as an organizer that can be used three different ways. The product is the perfect size to fit in your locker or any space.

Design for Manufacturing Team: Evaluation  Your design solution  Yourself Evaluation of your design solution will include: What are the strengths and weaknesses of the final design? Self-evaluation should answer such questions as: Did I work well with my team? What did I contribute to my team? Something new I learned? This product can be used in three different ways and can fit in any space. It can also hold many of your supplies. The negative things about this product are that it can only fit smaller things and it might not fit in the messy lockers
