Mission Statement The Mission of the Center Grove Wrestling Club is to provide each student-athlete the opportunity to excel in the sport of wrestling. The program will develop strong character and work ethic; build confidence, self-esteem, and a positive team morale. Academic excellence will be emphasized, as we will strive to nurture and grow young people of excellence.
Practice Schedule Change this year and from what was announced. Beginner’s –Monday & Wednesday 6:00-7:00 PM –Coach Andrew Schiefling (CGHS wrestlers assisting) Advanced & Middle School Training Camp –Monday & Wednesday 7:05-8:25 PM –Coach Richard Neal –Friday 6:00-7:30 PM (run by Coach Hoover) 5:30 PM start time during CGHS football season –Mandatory for duals participation

Equipment Needs Must haves: –Mouth Piece –Head Gear –Shorts & t-shirts are fine for practice Recommended –Shoes –No street shoes allowed on the mat
Parents We can only have people who are coaching or helping directly with club activities in the wrestling room during practice –Space & distractions are an issue Others may wait just outside the room in the entryway

Season Overview Session 1 (Elementary) –Oct. 26 th –March 9th –Club meet on Monday, Nov. 9 th 6:00 PM –Duals Wrestle-offs on Thursday, Nov. 19 th 6:00 PM –Kids State finals March 12 th & 13 th MS Preseason Training Camp –Oct. 26 th –November 27th HS/MS Session 2 –Begin at the conclusion of school seasons –Freestyle/Greco-Roman State Finals May 7 th & 8th
Folkstyle Wrestling Program Goals: –Provide a positive experience through the sport of wrestling –Promote the sport of wrestling and gain new fans of the sport –Develop skills that will help kids in all aspects of life –Build a love and passion for the sport of wrestling
Participation on the duals team is optional Open to grades K-6 but experience is important We want to attend 4-5 tournaments minimum Last years teams wrestled 25 matches + exhibitions Club Fees increase covers entry fees –Guaranteed matches & wrestling experience –Team building Duals Team
Folkstyle Program December 5 th –Host Elementary MSC December 6 th –Host Elementary beginners MSC March 1 st –Club CGHS *We need everyone helping at this event as it is our largest fundraiser.
Value Beginner’s $150 /36 practices = $4.17 per practice Also includes T-shirt Advanced $250/54 practices =$4.63 per practice Includes t-shirt & duals fees
Freestyle & Greco-Roman Starts in mid March and runs through May Olympic styles We focus on the folkstyle season We hope that many are interested and stay through freestyle & Greco-roman We understand that your child may go on to other sports and that is ok
