LCC Free CNA Training Presented by: Lansing Community College/Eaglevision

Training Begins Training begins on Tuesday, April 18, 2011 and runs until May 31, Schedule for lecture and lab is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 1:30pm – 9:00 pm at Lansing Community College. Participant selected will take an additional 32 hours Employability Skills class. (Mandatory) If selected for this training, you must have a negative 2- step TB Skin Test prior to clinical experience.

Funding for the scholarships? Lansing Community College will fund your scholarship Tuition Which can include instructional costs, books, materials, fees (such as application costs, registration, and laboratory fees)

Am I eligible for these scholarships? Documentation required to be eligible: Driver’s License or State ID Social Security Card Birth Certificate Income verification (i.e. Paystub, Tax Records, Unemployment stubs) Any person who has received a notice of termination or layoff from employment. Any person who is receiving UIA (Unemployment) benefits or have exhausted their benefits and have not returned to work full-time. Verification of Registration for Selective Service (males only, Born on or after January 1, 1960). Must have registered in order to be eligible. Print off Resume from Michigan Talent Bank Print off ONET Interest Profile- The O*NET Computerized Interest Profiler measures six types of occupational interests: Realistic Social Investigative Enterprising Artistic Conventional IF the documents are not provided you will not be eligible for services.

Assessment  WorkKeys: 3 – 45 minute assessments (April 7 th 8:15-11:30)  Reading for Information  Applied Mathematics  Locating Information (reading graphs, charts, etc)  National Career Readiness Certificate: the work-related skills credential  LCC Placement Test  Reading  Writing

Potential Disqualifying Factors for training  Incomplete/missing documentation.  Inability to reach minimal scores on WorkKeys tests.  Academic holds with training institution.  Criminal background.  Lack of professionalism.  Lack of passion.  Lack of follow-through.

Follow up Provide all required documentation by Thursday, March 31, A case manager will call to setup an appointment Complete all paperwork requirements Take the WorkKeys Assessment (April 7 th 8:15-11:30 am) Commit to work with a LCC case manager for up to 1 year after finding full-time employment
