Sara Evans grew up in New Franklin, Missouri Sara Evans grew up with four brothers and sisters Sara Evans was very poor growing up Sara Evans performed in bars across Missouri to raise money for her family at young ages June 21, 1979 – (5:30pm) Sara struck by a car in front of parent’s home, suffering two broken legs July 26, 1979 – Sara leaves hospital in wheelchair after weeks in Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville – leaves with 2 garbage bags of toys, 336 cards, $131, and $10,000 hospital bill. Attempts to earn the money back by performing with her family band on weekends
