Presentation transcript:

I don’t make good grades. I can’t seem to listen and pay attention in class. I’m so bored and sleepy. I hate school. I don’t feel like studying. How can I rest when the phone keeps ringing? I have to answer it! Work is more important than school.

TIME MANAGEMENT AND STUDY SKILLS What is the difference between a “have to” and a “want to”? I want to prioritize, but I don’t know how! How important is studying, anyway? Are there strategies for studying and time management? Are they easy?

Have To vs. Want To Have-to’s include: Family responsibilities School and Homework Sleep Eating and personal hygiene Want-to’s are: Activities Down time (friends, reading, watching TV)

Time Management Helps You To… Gain time Gain motivation Reduce avoidance Eliminate cramming Reduce anxiety

Time Tips Make a master schedule for yourself. Establish a regular time and place for study. Write down all class assignments in your agenda. Take breaks. Have a study strategy. Study with a partner. Schedule your most difficult tasks for the times you are most alert.
