The Great San Francisco Earthquake 1906 Marco Burgos Ricky Gonzales

Who saw it first? 1.The Great San Francisco Earthquake 1906 was one of the most massive earthquakes yet. It was first discovered when a local police officer who was buying an orange saw a hole in the ground. No one believed him until a huge crack appeared on the street.

What time was it when it happened? April 18, Many people were asleep when the earthquake happened. It was around 6:00 a.m. The people who were asleep the whole time would end up across the road, or in their neighbor’s backyard.

Did crazy stuff happen? Well. Duh? One guy went to sleep on a folding bed and slept. The earthquake made the bed fold and he could not breath!!!

Also, a circus was in the city. When the earthquake started, an elephant led a group of animals and the elephant roared and so did the other animals following him.

Were there any warnings? Well, there was a story that a dog ran away one minute before the earthquake started. So was that a warning?

What else happened? A Fire Many people couldn’t fight it because the earthquake broke water pipes. Fire Fighters couldn’t fight it either.

Where did they sleep? They slept in the outdoors and made tents out of pillows and blankets they saved. Most people shared their tents with other people that did not have a tent. They even shared their spare blankets and pillows!!!

How did people keep their hopes up? They wrote signs that said silly things on them. Some people saved their pianos and sang. They always sang and danced!!
