The Diary of Marvin the Monkey!

Hi, I’m Marvin the Monkey and I am 2 years old and that is my Mum. I really enjoy my new home here at the zoo! It is fantastic and I love everything about it. Come have a look at what makes my new home so marvelous…..

At first I was scared moving into a new home, because I didn’t know where I was or if they were going to have bananas! But after being here for 4 weeks I really like it This is my Dad. My family and I love relaxing on this rock! The zoo gave us lots and lots of green trees with long vines to play on in our home and a little pond to go swimming in! And some bananas, so that made me even happier! We also have a concrete roof that we can sit under when it’s very hot.

This is a picture of me and my favourite zoo staff member, Wendy! I get lots of yummy food here at the zoo! Some of my favourite foods that I eat are bananas, nuts and the bugs my Mum picks out of my hair! Wendy also gives my family lots of different plants to eat…because she says “vegetables are healthy!”

The staff at the zoo take great care of us! I get my hair cut and styled every 2 weeks. This week I decided to get a mohawk…as you can see in my picture! What do you think? Wendy, my hairstylist, told me I’m the “coolest monkey in the zoo!” which my older brother wasn’t very happy about hehe I also get my teeth brushed and cleaned every week. And I get a bath twice a week, which is good, because I get very messy climbing the trees in my home! I always get dirt between my toes!

I love playing with my family! I have a Mum, a Dad, an older brother, two older sisters and a baby brother! My Mum just gave birth to my baby brother the other day. He came out crying and was covered in icky stuff hehe but he was very cute. We are a very close family I love swinging between the trees on the vines in our home. I love playing chasing near the pond with my older brother. I also like to sleep under the sun, especially after a game of hide and seek! I love making lots of noise! But not too much, because my Dad always yells at us when he is trying to sleep…he’s the one in charge! I love to eat yummy food, like bananas!

I am a mammal, so my neighbours are mammals too! My neighbours are very nice, especially Mrs. Giraffe and.Mr. Gorilla And across from me is Mr. Elephant…I’m a little scared of him! He is very big, but my Mum says he’s very friendly! I guess the zoo is still new, so I need some getting used to! Mrs. Giraffe Mr. Gorilla Mr. Elephant
