 Identify what seeds grow locally  Purchase from reliable dealer – viable seed  Choose hybrid varieties – greater vigor  Select uniformed heavyweight or primed seeds

 Soil  Construction Grade sand  Peat Moss  Sphagnum Moss  Horticultural Grade Perlite  Vermiculite  Jiffy Mix

 Flats or individual cells

 Depends on when plants are ready for the outdoors.

 Planting them

 Use water breaker or hand water

 Temp – 70 degrees  Humidity – high  Some seeds require 3 – days darkness (Pansy and dusty miller)  Hardening off
