TRANSIENT STUDENT INFORMATION

OBTAIN A TRANSIENT LETTER This letter is obtained from the registrar at the students home school and serves both as a waiver of prerequisite courses and as a protection for students on the agreement of transfer or coursework back to their home institution.

COMPLETE ADMISSIONS APPLICATION The admissions application is available on-line under Potential Students Apply Online or can be filled out in person at any of the three local campuses at Wheeling, New Martinsville and Weirton.

REGISTRATION You should receive an or letter of acceptance instructing you how to register for you courses on line. There is a PowerPoint of instructions under student services if you need help with registration.

PAYMENT OF COURSES Payment is required by the LAST DAY TO PAY published in the schedule of classes of on website. If last day to pay has passed then payment is required upon day of registration. Students who plan to use financial aid must have a CONSORTIUM AGREEMENT sent directly from their home institution to WVNCC before the LAST DAY TO PAY or before they register for classes. TRANSIENT STUDENTS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR FINANCIAL AID THROUGH WVNCC.

TRANSCRIPTS Transcripts are not automatically sent to your home school after classes are completed. To have your transcripts sent you will need to fill out a transcript request form or request them through your NOW account.

PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP?? If you are attempting to make up hours or improve your GPA for the PROMISE Scholarship you are advised to also check with your home institution financial aid office to be sure of the timeline for submitting grades. Courses that are Pass/Fail may not qualify for Promise. Promise students are encouraged to thoroughly check out all information prior to registering for any classes.
