Tree Nursery Collection 1 st grade Belvedere Elementary October 2013

Here we are listening to the directions for our Tree Nursery Collection.

Time to collect seeds!

And collect….

And collect…..

And collect…

Until we had more than 1,000 seeds!

Now we have to sort the seeds.

We worked very hard to make sure that our seeds were sorted correctly.

In the end, we were very proud of our work! We want to thank Mrs. Evers for helping us sort our tree seeds.

We worked as citizens to collect tree seeds for the county of Fairfax. These tree seeds will be used to plant new trees. These trees will be used around the county to help create a tree cover. Through our efforts as a team we were able to collect 871 usable seeds. We are showing what the impact can be when a group of citizens get together to do something positive.
