 Slovakia (The Slovak Republic) is country with 5,455,407 inhabitants and area of 49,035 km² situated between:  Austria (91 km),  Czech Republic (215 km)  Hungary (677 km),  Poland (444 km)  The Ukraine (97 km)  Western Carpathian Mountains with the highest point in the republic - Gerlachovský Štít with height of 2,655 meters.

 Bratislava is an important port on the Danube and a railway junction, Slovakia's largest city.  Bratislava was Founded before the 10th century.  When Czechoslovakia was created in 1918 after World War I, the city was renamed to Bratislava and made capital of the province of Slovakia.
