Welcome to the Administrative Office Specialist Course!!

Congratulations on taking the first step towards an exciting new career!

Components of the Course  This course is divided into four sections  Information Technology Assistant 150 hrs  Front Desk Specialist 300 hrs  Assistant Digital Production Designer 150 hrs  Administrative Assistant 450 hrs

All four sections take one year to complete Class schedule follows the DeSoto County School District calendar – No classes over summer – Click on the calendar for a link to the school district calendar Enrollment is year round

This course covers: Thorough training in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, and Publisher Communications (includes practice composing letters and learning proper grammar and punctuation) Business Math (covers all the basic math needed in business) Keyboarding

Attendance/Absenteeism Policy Tardiness: Being on time to class daily is expected and required. Tardiness will not be tolerated on a regular basis. Students will call the instructor or school to advise if they are going to be late. Students will make up all missed worked when tardy. Absences: Students will call the instructor or school to advise if they are going to be absent. Students will make up all missed work when absent. Below is the absenteeism policy for each of the four administrative assistant classes:

“Professional Day” Wednesday of each week is designated “Professional Day.” On this day, students are to dress as if employed in an office with a strict conservative dress code.

Daily Schedule Class begins promptly at 8:00. Short break at 10:00 Lunch is from 12:00 – 12:30 Class ends at 2:30
