Project Concept Provide the public online information regarding lawyers and shorthand reporters Provide online license-related services to lawyers and court reporters Provide online continuing legal education approval services to sponsors and lawyers Provide electronic reporting and interest payment services to trust account depositories

Background Information Court Commissions administers matters for five Supreme Court commissions or boards –CLE: annual reporting, fee payment, seminar approval –Client Security: annual reporting, fee payment –Shorthand Board: annual reporting, fee payment –Lawyer Trust: interest payments and grant administration –Grievance: ethics complaint processing Principal data depository regarding lawyers, shorthand reporters All transactions performed by paper transmission, manual payment processing and data entry No consolidated information regarding lawyers or shorthand reporters available to the public online

Project Overview Develop external web interface to commission services for the public, lawyers, shorthand reporters, CLE sponsors and trust account depositories Convert existing Access database to Oracle to support additional load from the external interface Develop internal interface to the Oracle database for staff administration of commission operations

Planning Costs External Interface Planning - $30,000 (ITE) Internal Interface Planning - $47,750 (Cisco) Court Commissions to contribute $38,875 Court Commissions Requests $38,875 in Support from IowAccess for planning phase
