USING THE RADIO Basic Display Icons 1Transmit Appears while transmitting (TX) 2Receiving Appears while the selected channel is busy (RX) 3Signal Strength 4Low Power Settings Appears when in low 1 or low 2 power 5 Encryption Appears when encryption is on. 6Lock Appears when programmable keys are locked. 7Battery battery level is low. Recharge or replace battery immediately For explanations of other display icon, please refer to the instruction Manual

USING THE RADIO CON’T Talk Protocol in Encryption Mode Important Ensure that the battery is charged before use Press the Push to talk (PTT) to transmit Because of encryption Type III, there will be a echo and delay on receiving When the radio is on and not transmitting the radio is in monitor mode.

USING THE RADIO CON’T protect radio against water exposure or immersion. It is rain resistant but not submersible. The carrying case is water resistant.. Check antenna for proper installation. Do not use the antenna as a handle. Check the battery for correct latching if there are power issues.

BATTERY OPERATIONS Battery/Charging Cautions and Warnings Danger Use only ICOM batteries and chargers. ALWAYS TURN THE POWER OFF WHILE CHARGING NEVER insert a wet or soiled battery pack/radio into the charger. NEVER incinerate used battery packs. Internal battery gas may cause an explosion. NEVER attach a wet battery to the ICOM radio AVOID leaving the battery pack fully charged, or completely discharged for long time. It causes shorter battery life..
