OSSLT Prep Week. OSSLT Test – Thursday, March 26 Each day this week, we will look at one area of the test. Monday – Multiple Choice & The Graphic Text Tuesday – Short Answer Wednesday – Inferences Thursday – News Reports Friday – Supported Opinion Paragraphs

Multiple Choice Questions There are two types of multiple choice questions: based on a reading passage (reading passages include: info paragraphs, news reports, dialogue, real-life narratives, graphic texts) based on writing skills (topics include: language conventions, organization of ideas, developing main ideas)

Multiple choice tips Rule out all answers that you know are wrong. Don’t rely on your memory. Double-check the graphics or text. Don’t leave ANY blanks. GUESS! Be sure to fill in the correct bubble.

The Graphic Text Will be less than 150 words Will require you to read some kind of graphic (photos, diagrams, maps, charts, tables, schedules, sketches, etc.) You will be asked to respond using Multiple choice

Read titles, headings, captions, and images.

Read the labels and figure out how they are connected to the diagram.

Follow all arrows and lines.

Pay attention to fonts (Bold, italics, symbols)
