Thesis facts: It must be the last sentence of the first paragraph. It is the most important sentence of your entire essay. In one sentence you must include your position and reasons.

Furthermore, they will learn to get along with people. (One of the things you need to keep in mind is that you need to make the thesis sentence one sentence. Do not break it up in to separate sentences because you will use too many words. In this particular thesis sentence, the second and third “ sentences” are not sentences, but fragments.

Correction: All citizens of the age of 18 should serve one year in the military because they will learn to work, patriotism, and get along with people.

Complete: I strongly believe that trash-burning fires should be banned because____,____, and_____.
