 Saatchi & Saatchi conducted research about messages to volunteers from other organizations.  S&S also researched what personally moves people to volunteer. Their staff members volunteered, spoke with volunteers and provided us with insight detailed on the following slides.

 THEY’RE PROCRASTINATING. IT’S A NATURAL HUMAN CONDITION.  THEY HAVEN’T BEEN ASKED  THEY HAVEN’T BEEN ASKED INDIVIDUALLY

 IS BECAUSE THEY HAVEN’T BEEN ASKED  PERSONAL REQUESTS ARE POWERFUL.

 THEY ALL WANT TO FEEL THAT THEY PERSONALLY CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. ◦ Youth need social connection ◦ Working people need to feel volunteering is meaningful ◦ Seniors need to feel needed

 INSPIRE ONE NEW YORKER TO ASK ANOTHER  IF 2.8M CURRENT VOLUNTEERS ASKED ONE PERSON  AND THOSE PEOPLE ASK ANOTHER  WITH JUST 3 DEGREES OF SEPARATION, WE WILL HAVE INCREASED VOLUNTEERING 300%.  THAT’S 57% OF THE ENTIRE NEW YORK STATE POPULATION.

 Does this message resonate for you?  What makes you volunteer?  What vehicles would best be used to communicate with you and your peers? ◦ Television ◦ Radio ◦ Flyers ◦ Internet ◦ Newspapers ◦ Meetings ◦ Telephone ◦ Etc.
