About Julie ▪ Served in the Navy from 2003 t on USS Ronald Reagan. Attended boot camp at Great Lakes, IL and Culinary Specialist Technical A School at San Antonio, TX. ▪ Military Occupation was Damage Control Petty Officer and Training Petty Officer for division SS-40. Served on three deployments. ▪ Medals include: National Defense, Battle E, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary, Sea Service 3 awards, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist Pin ▪ Originally from Lucasville, Ohio ▪ Lived in the Triangle since May 18, ▪ Completed my Associate’s of Applied Science, Certification as Nursing Assistant 1 and just finished Certification for Certified Nursing Assistant 2. It includes my personal journal through the years and how I have been recovering. I wrote this book because I wanted to tell my story and to help others to now that he or she is not alone.

Why Serenity Camp?

“The Facts”  A rape happens every two minutes in the military.  1 in 5 women and 1 in 10 men in the military report experiencing sexual assault. ▪ One in 20 sexual assault cases ever go to court martial ▪ 62 percent of Survivors are retaliated against and forced out of the military while chain of command does everything they can to protect rapist..

Serenity Camp ▪ Serenity Camp is a new rural nonprofit that is going to provide a safe healing sanctuary for active duty members, and veterans to come to for 15 to 90 days to aid with their recovery from Military Sexual Trauma (MST). ▪ Attendance will be offered at no cost any female veteran or female active duty member who has survived Military Sexual Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress.
