 Almost dropped out of college  What’s the point?!  Not struggling academically  Not struggling financially  Don’t ask “Why do so many leave?”  Ask “Why do some stay?”

What did it take for me?  Opportunities to learn about the world  Opportunities to learn about myself  Opportunities to get involved  Connecting all of these things to curriculum, pedagogy, and student life

What’s in it for us?  Improved student outcomes  Fulfilled faculty and staff  Improved relationship with the community, better communities  Improved support from the community  Political support  Financial support  Return to original mission of education!

What’s in it for students?  More successful in academic goals  More successful in professional goals  More successful in life ARE WE MAKING THAT CASE?
