WHAT IS THE AWARD & BENEFITS? It's an employability skills award which is open to all students and runs from end of October 2015 to April It is designed to:  Formally recognise experience & achievements gained outside of your studies  Certificate and invited to Awards ceremony on completion  Develop key skills employers want  Access to a range of core and skills activities and workshops delivered by professionals within NTU and employers  Build your employability profile  Completion of an e-Employability Development Profile which provides a record and evidence of students’ transferable skills and development on the award and an exit interview with an employer representative to articulate skills and experience gained

NTU Acceler8 Employability Award Structure The 8 Elements to the Award EXPERIENCE CORE SKILLS REFLECTION & PRACTICE 4. Undergraduates gain minimum of 50 hours experience and postgraduate taught students gain minimum of 25 hours experience outside of their studies e.g. paid/unpaid/volunteering/student ambassadors etc 1. Acceler8 Induction ‘Getting Started’ 2. Career Management ( Online ) 3. Professionalise Your Profile – On paper, Online & In Person ( Attendance required at two 2hr workshops ) 5. Elective Skills Development Sessions (Attendance required at four 2hr workshops selected from range of sessions e.g. leadership, networking, team working, psychometric tests, IT, assertiveness, oral communication etc) 6. Complete e-Employability Development Profile 7. Submit updated CV for interview 8. Exit Interview with an employer Level 1 Level 2 Acceler8 Award (Recommend current 1 st years complete Level 1 in 1 st year and Level 2 in 2 nd year

8 elements to complete on your e-Employability Development Profile (Nov-March) 1. Your Experience Log your experience hours and reflections 2. Core Book and access sessions and online activities 3. Skills Development Book sessions and add reflections of what you gained from these sessions 4. Your Personal Profile Highlight your key strengths and skills 5. Evidencing Your Employability Skills Provide examples of skills from experience for interview and competency based questions 6. Your CV Upload your CV for interview 7. Your Personal Action Plan Create your plan, set goals, next steps 8. Exit Interview Book and attend your interview to complete the award
